Father Christmas Grotto at The Holburne Museum (Bath)

Father Christmas has discovered an exciting new home for his magical grotto adventure! Now located in the enchanting gardens of the Holburne Museum, this beloved festive experience is bigger, brighter, and more magical than ever before.

The Holburne Museum is on Bath’s Great Pulteney Street. Running from 27 November to 23 December, this event transforms a family day out into a magical Christmas adventure.

Enjoy a 20 minute immersive performance with actors, live music, and a beautifully decorated setting. Help the elves wake Father Christmas, then meet him and Sprinkles the elf for a photo and a gift. Both children and adults are welcome to join in the fun. (Yep! We said adults)

When:

• From 27 November – 23 December 2025
• Shows take place every day from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with extra sessions on weekends and closer to Christmas.
• Special ‘My First Christmas’ shows are also available for babies aged 0–18 months, making the event inclusive for families with very young children.

The experience suits all ages but is especially magical for ages 3–12 years. Every child must be accompanied by an adult.  

The grotto is held in a purpose-built space in the museum grounds, and the site is fully accessible.

The Holburne is just a short walk from Bath city centre and Bath Spa station. Onsite parking is limited, so it’s a good idea to use public car parks or Park & Ride options.

After your grotto visit, warm up in the Café Chalet, which serves festive treats, hot drinks, cakes and light food.
