Mythology & Code Breaking Classics Masterclass

This classics masterclass for girls in Years 4–6 features Harry Potter-inspired code-breaking, Greek mythology and crafts.

Mythology & Code Breaking Classics Masterclass is a morning event for girls in Years 4–6 at any school, offering a fun introduction to studying Classics and the Royal High School Bath community.

Participants explore Latin meanings behind names and spells in Harry Potter, use the Classical Greek alphabet to decipher messages, and learn about Greek mythology. The session also includes creating a bookmark inspired by Greek and Roman tales. Dressing up as a favourite Harry Potter character is optional.

Timetable:

• 10.00am – Arrival and registration (participants split into two groups)
• 10.15am – Session 1 (Code-breaking or Mythology)
• 11.15am – Break and refreshments
• 11.30am – Session 2 (Mythology or Code-breaking)
• 12.15pm–12.30pm – Collection and departure
