TWO NEW APPRENTICES BEGIN THEIR CAREERS WITH ONE OF WILTSHIRE’S LEADING HEATING & PLUMBING COMPANIES

Teenagers Tom Gittins and James Trippe are the latest apprentices to become part of the loyal team at John Williams Heating Services.

For owners Debbie and John Williams, Tom and James will be the 17th and 18th apprentices who have come through their business – many going on to qualify and stay as plumbers and heating engineers.

Tom, who’s 18, is excited to start his Level 3 in plumbing and gas engineering in September. He will work with the John Williams team and do his theory work at Wiltshire College in Melksham/Trowbridge.

“I got a job in bathroom fitting when I left school at 16 and completed my level 1 and level 2 at college. However I felt I wanted to go further and John Williams Heating Services has such a great reputation for supporting apprenticeships so I approached them about starting my level 3 qualification with them.”

Tom, who lives in Bower Hill, Melksham, will be starting with the company in September.

Already starting his apprenticeship is James, who is also 18, and lives in Neston. He left Corsham School at 16 and decided to train to become a plumber. He completed his Level 2 qualification while working part-time for his dad Howard.

“I’m loving working with the team at John Williams Heating Services as they are all so friendly. I came here when I was doing my Level 2 on work experience and loved it so I jumped at the chance to continue my training here and taking my skills to the next level,” James said.

Debbie Williams, co-founder of John Williams Heating Services said:

“John started his career as an apprentice, so we have always valued apprentices in our business as we believe in nurturing young talent and helping them to learn excellence both in their practical skills but also in customer service.

“We’re delighted to be welcoming both Tom and James into the business where we are sure they will thrive. We’ve been so lucky with our apprentices over the years, many have gone on to stay with us way beyond their apprenticeships and some are still with us today.”

John and Debbie are well known in Chippenham as the founders of John Williams Heating Services, a Worcester accredited installer, registered with both Gas Safe and Oftec, the trade associations monitoring best practice. The company is based on the Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate. For more information visit https://jwheating.co.uk
