The Jane Austen Centre celebrates Bath's most famous resident.
Attracting thousands of visitors from around the globe each year, The Jane Austen Centre pays homage to the work of the famous historic novelist Jane Austen.
Famous for her works such as Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, The Jane Austen Centre focuses on the influence the city of Bath had on Austen, and gives visitors an insight into the life of the author and Regency times in the city. This is a permanent and ever-evolving exhibition that is immersive and informative, with staff dressed in Regency costumes to take you back as close as possible to the time of Jane Austen.
Located in a beautiful Georgian building right in the heart of Bath, with its Regency Tea Room and Gift Shop, The Jane Austen Centre is certainly a must-visit.

What is a regency tea?
Tea was served in a China or silver pot accompanied by slices of lemon or milk. Tea leaves used during the Regency were chopped much more coarsely than those used today.
