Bath’s New Boston Tea Party to Open this Weekend
Boston Tea Party cafe-bar opens in Bath this weekend, the second one of its kind due to the high and still growing demand of the city.
A family-run business, Boston Tea Party company, based in Bristol, is opening a new outlet for Bath. It is from a sensitively restored Grade II building in Alfred Street, which is opposite the Bath Assembly Rooms, and on the corner of Bartlett Street within striking distance of the city centre.
Open to the public from Saturday, December 12th The Boson Tea Party, is a spacious, 130-seated restaurant and is set to serve up an array of ethically sourced food and drink. Included in this are award-winning brunch and breakfasts, homemade cakes, seasonal lunches and main meals alongside specialty coffees and loose leaf teas.
The brand new venue will be BTP’s 17th outlet, and complement the existing Boston Tea Party in Bath, based in Kingsmead Square, listed below.
Sam Roberts, Managing Director of Boston Tea Party, said: “We love Bath - our Kingsmead Square venue was one of our first ever cafes - and we’ve been keen to open a second cafe-bar in the city for a while, so we can cater for even more customers, from a venue with more inside space to benefit families with pushchairs and young children.
“We found the perfect location in this stunning former house on Alfred Street, and have been working hard to restore the historic building so it will be open in time to serve the Christmas shoppers flocking to Bath’s busy city centre.”
Boston Tea Party’s second Bath cafe-bar has created 39 new jobs for the city, with staff hired locally in line with the company’s commitment to recruiting a local workforce whenever possible. The light and airy first-floor venue boasts classic features, included stained glass windows, and is easily accessible with ground floor access from Alfred Street, or via a staircase from the Bartlett Street side at the rear.
BTP Alfred Street will be the 17th cafe-bar operated by the family-owned and run success story, with 16 thriving venues based across the South West region, including five in Bristol, and venues in Exeter, Cheltenham, Salisbury, Birmingham and Worcester.
Boston Tea Party plans to open further new cafe-bars in the South West and Midlands during 2016 but is managing its ongoing steady growth whilst ensuring it retains the independent spirit and strong, socially-driven focus which the company has become renowned for.
