Review: Tara's Tasty Treats

Tara’s Tasty treats is a small, local business in the heart of Bath run by Tara. Everything is homemade by herself, providing the streets of Bath with the most delicious delights to tempt your taste buds with! This week Team Total had the pleasure of sampling a few of Tara’s best-selling tasty treats!

As soon as the box of sweet treats arrived, we lifted the lid slightly, and our nostrils were met with a sweet aroma of deliciousness as well as our eyes lighting up at the wonderful sight. The chocolate essence grew stronger the longer we left the box open making us mouth-wateringly impatient, so we had to try these delicious treats!

With 3 delicacies to delight our taste buds with, there was definitely something for all of the Total team to indulge in.

After deciding to sample the best-selling double chocolate brownies first, we were informed by Tara that the brownies were best when warmed up in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds with a delicious, homemade salted caramel sauce drizzled on top. She was certainly correct! The team relished in each and every mouthful of the rich, chocolate chunk brownies which were perfectly crumbly at the edges and gooey in the middle! The chocolate chunks were generously placed throughout each brownie, creating different textures in our mouths yet adding further flavour! Drizzled with the salted caramel sauce we got an overwhelming taste of the salt which infused extra flavour yet sweetness into the brownie. They were definitely a big hit with the Total team. If you wanted to add something a little extra to balance out the richness, we will perhaps suggest a delicious scoop of vanilla ice cream or Cornish clotted cream to accompany the brownie.

Next up, after being wowed by the chocolate chunk brownies, we went onto tasting the huge triple chocolate chip cookies. We crunched into one of these each to meet a moist centre with, again, milk and white chocolate chunks generously arranged throughout. They had the perfect amount of crunch to softness ratio resulting in the Total team savouring every bite. The cookies were delicate on the pallet adding sweetness to our taste buds but just the right amount! They were very easy to eat yet incredible in flavour with the contrast of the two types of chocolate chips, making these another favourite of the Total team.

Last but definitely not least, we tucked into the peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes. At first glance you wouldn’t think these little delights had a hint of peanut better through them, but they certainly did! A delightful combo! The first bite was sheer deliciousness as we were met with the peanut butter and chocolate infusion, almost instantly kicking off the flavour. The chocolate piped icing on top was the perfect consistency to accompany the fluffiness and bounciness of the sponge, making it so easy to eat and leaving us wanting more!

After consuming all our lovely treats, it’s safe to say we absolutely loved them and will definitely be back for more!

The double chocolate brownies and triple chocolate cookies are just £3! An amazing, affordable price for these tasty delicacies.
