Thought There Was No Such Thing as a Free Lunch...Think Again

Foraging for wild food has become an increasingly popular activity since more and more people want to know where the food on their plates is coming from.

Professional forager and garden writer Dave Hamilton, will be holding free wild city foraging walks as part of the Flavours of the West festival at Milsom Place, Bath, Saturday 29th June.

Dave, who has written for BBC Gardener’s World Magazine and co-authored the Self-Sufficient-ish Bible, will cover all aspects of plant identification, foraging, and ideas on how to prepare and cook forest findings.

Participants will find out exactly what foods they can find in abundance as they walk through the parks of Bath in search of edible plants and flowers.

For beginner foragers, they can learn how to identify the different varieties of plants in a safe and environmentally friendly way.

There will also be the chance for a Q&A with Dave and preparation ideas for a forageable feast.

Flavours of the West at Milsom Place, Bath, Saturday 29th June, 10.00am - 5.00pm, celebrates with some of the best local cheeses, wines, ales, pies and more. It is the perfect opportunity to indulge in some treats as well as sampling locally grown produce.
