The Dos and Don'ts of Hen and Stag Planning

Planning for your stag or hen party is never an easy task, TGtB has been talking to the experts at Go Hen and Stag Web to bring you the ultimate Dos and Don'ts..

Preparing for your stag or hen party is key to making sure your night ,or weekend, is one to remember and not a ‘never again’ weekend. To avoid any mishaps or disasters, it all comes down to having a good organiser. If you get the party right, then you’ll be in for a fantastic weekend of fun, adventure, laughs and a whole load of photos you hope never appear online! On the flip side, get it wrong and you could wish you’d stayed at home.

The team at Stag Web & Go Hen have been organising stag and hen parties for well over 12 years. If there is something to know about Stag and Hen weekends, then they know it. They are experts is making sure your weekend is remembered for all the right reasons.

Do – Plan well in advance. Certain times of the year are very popular for stag and hen parties, with this in mind, it’s best to book up well in advance. You don’t want to find yourself making do with the local pub if you were hoping for a fancy cocktail master class!

Don’t – Have too many people trying to plan! It is always good to get the group's opinion, but be careful how many people get involved. If you get bombarded with ideas and suggestions you’ll never please everyone. Keep it simple and be decisive with your decisions.

Do – Talk to the bride or groom to be! Although they will be busy planning their wedding, there might be certain things they had in mind for their party. Making sure you speak to the guest of honour will help you avoid disappointment and could give you some handy pointers!

Don’t – Go overboard! It can be easy to get carried away when planning your weekend, but it is really important to set a reasonable budget and stick to it. There is no point organising champagne fountains and expensive luxury hotels if no one can afford to come! Remember, it’s about making sure the budget is comfortable for everyone to share.

Do – Get advice! It there is a water leakage, you call a plumber, in the same way if you need help or advice organising your party then using a stag or hen company can help save you time and money. These companies often have special rates which they can pass on to you!

Don’t – Forget the other half! It may sound silly, but think about the future partner of your hen or stag. If they don’t feel comfortable sending their soon to be other half for a night of lap dancing or adult entertainment, then it’s best to listen. After all, you don’t want to risk a pre-marital row or anything worse!
