How to Bag a Black Friday Deal

If you want to bag a black Friday deal, then this is the place to start.

We’ve a top 10 guide to getting through the pre-festive sales madness like a pro. Whether you choose to shop online or hit the stores IRL our guide will make sure you leave with both your sanity and a bargain intact.

1. Do your homework. Is it really a good offer? Check all the social media channels so you know what is really a deal, and what is a dupe.

2. Preparation is key. Make sure you have accounts with your favourite retailers, and, add your bank and address details BEFORE you find you are in a fastest fingers first race with the rest of mankind.

3. Will your chosen store offer a price match if you find your chosen item elsewhere for cheaper? Not all will but some high street might. Check their T&C’s.

4. Do you REALLY need or want it. Just because it’s in the sale doesn’t make it excellent. Check customer ratings and comments for some honesty before you part with cash.

5. Is it a household name? If not, can it be trusted? Get your magnifying glass out and make like a detective. Know your products AND your companies.

6. Websites crash routinely with the influx of bargain hungry shoppers on Black Friday. Are there other sites you can grab that bargain from? Be savvy and across them all.

7. Set the alarm clock! Check online price drops as well as store opening hours as they are sure to be super early. And if you are physically heading to the shops, make a priority list and visit in that order.

8. Stores will also target Cyber Monday as another time they traditionally drop their prices. But don’t be wrong footed, some retailers may start their sales earlier than this. Trawl your favourite brands website now and be forearmed.

9. Double Up. Shop online whilst you are at the shops! No need to miss out and if you can multi-task then you this is for you. Same applies for shopping from home, if you’ve identified must-have bargains then use your laptop and mobile to make purchases.

10. Check the returns policy of each retailer, just in case you made a hasty purchase….
