Bath Rugby suffer first loss of the season at Leicester

Todd Blackadder got his first taste of defeat as Director of Rugby at Bath as the Blue, Black and White lost 34-14.

Bath were never in the game at Welton Road, as Leicester took the lead as early as the sixth minute via Owen Williams' penalty to make it 3-0.

The Tigers extended their lead eight minutes through their first try that was scored by Brendan O'Connor. Williams missed the conversion but did make amends with a penalty soon after to make the score 11-0.

Semesa Rokoduguni kept Bath in contention with a try of his own, and unlike his opposite number, George Ford was successful with the conversion. 11-7.

In first half stoppage time though, Leicester scored a second penalty as it became a seven-point game. Half-time 14-7.

It only took five minutes of the second half for Leicester to score their second try on Sunday afternoon with Tom Youngs going over the tryline and this time Williams' kick was perfect.

Williams' fine form continued with penalty number three on the hour mark and he scored another two minutes later - 27-7.

Bath got another try in the 68th minute through Tom Dunn, which Ford converted but the Tigers scored their third andfinal try two minutes from time with Ed Slater scoring and Williams converting.
