The Ivy Bath Brasserie Opening on Milsom Street in October

The Ivy Collection is delighted to announce the opening of The Ivy Bath Brasserie on Wednesday, 11 October. Located within the heart of the World Heritage City of Bath, the restaurant will offer sophisticated and friendly all-day dining to both residents and visitors alike.

Situated on popular Milsom Street, The Ivy Bath Brasserie will be within close proximity to many of the city’s most famous destinations and iconic landmarks including the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, The Assembly Rooms and Bath Rugby Club.

The Ivy Bath Brasserie follows the opening of sister-restaurant, The Ivy Clifton Brasserie (which opened in August 2016 in Bristol), and will be a new addition to The Ivy Collection. The Ivy Collection is a group of neighbourhood restaurants, brasseries and cafés established in London, originating with The Ivy, West Street 100 years ago, and offers accessible, all-day dining in a relaxed, local setting.

In the beautiful Georgian building, previously occupied by Natwest, The Ivy Bath Brasserie will span two floors and retain the striking high ceilings and original features of the old banking hall. With a bar on each floor and interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the restaurant will offer guests the opportunity to initially dine in the ground floor brasserie, with the first floor brasserie and the al fresco terrace opening spring next year.

Open seven days a week, The Ivy Bath Brasserie will feature an all-encompassing menu, serving modern British classics from dawn until dusk, including breakfast, elevenses, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, light snacks, dinner and cocktails. The kitchen will be overseen by Executive Chef Sean Burbidge, and the restaurant’s menu will offer a selection of Ivy classics, including shepherd’s pie and eggs Benedict, alongside a number of dishes featuring locally sourced produce.

On the main menu, an Apple and Bath blue salad will feature creamed local cheese, with Beauty of Bath apples, cranberries, endive and caramelised hazelnuts; Bath Ale battered cod will be served with mashed peas, thick cut chips and tartare sauce; and a Baked apple tart with vanilla ice cream will be complimented by a Somerset Cider brandy flambe. And afternoon tea temptation is provided by warm Bath buns with clotted cream, jams and fresh strawberries.

The Ivy Bath Brasserie will be accessible and relaxed, holding back a proportion of tables for walk-ins, allowing locals and vistors to drop in throughout the day. Whether visiting for a leisurely breakfast, working lunch, cocktails with friends, or a three-course dinner, The Ivy Bath Brasserie adds to the charm of the already iconic city of Bath.
