AW19 Fashion In Bath

With Autumn and Winter creeping into our wardrobes, our love affair with fashion continues. We have long had fashionable credentials with some serious show-stopping heritage that dates back past the Georgians and beyond.

We asked Bath in Fashion Director and Total Guide to Bath blogger Sarah Baker to give us her top local pics from the current trends. She’s scoured the indies and the high street to bring us this seasonal fashion edit.

So, what’s hot this Autumn? Sarah picks out her top a trends for this season and where you can grab yourself a slice of the catwalk here in Bath.

Leather real or faux is everywhere and will last and last, these are investment pieces. Grab an incredible pair of trousers from Blue Women’s Clothing in The Loft, Coated Trousers Lurdes Bergada. Or TopShop in Southgate have similar starting at £42.00 for faux leather utility trousers. H&M have faux leather in various colours including this light grey midi that’s super flattering. Or if you’re feeling less confident about wearing leather on your bottom half, head to Chanii-B in Milson Place for some leather show inspiration. Or Portman Bath for a choice of cute suede clutch bags (also cross body’s, I’ve got one!) to add a pop of seasonal colour on a budget.

Colour-Block is big news, and who doesn’t love to add the season's colours to their wardrobe?! The fashion leaders are styling outfits head-to-toe with one vibrant colour but you needn’t be that daring if you’re unsure. We found gorgeous blazer jackets (a key trend) at Hobbs in cobalt blue, accessories like this headband from H&M, cord lux trousers from Toast and a woolly hat (surely an Autumn staple). Everyone has a colour that suits them, find your shade!

Daytime Bling, yep you heard it. If you like to dress-up whatever the occasion then this is your moment! We loved this star jumper from new-comers Sassy & Boo, this fun Karen Walker/Babou pom-pom belt from Found, more footwear to strut your stuff in from Chanii-B and some show-stopping shorts from Top-Shop.

Florals are back! And the best bit is there are so many ways to wear them! Go all out with this beautiful Antonia Dress by Stine Goya at Grace & Mabel, or wow in these Gucci Princetown Floral Brocade Slippers, from the designer consignment boutique Grace & Ted. Or just add a little floral something to our minimal styling (minimal is so in too!!) with theses Bonne Maison Flower Socks by Maze Clothing. And it’s not just for the girls! Ted Baker are embracing the flower power too with their Foggy Giant Florals Cotton Shirt.

Sarah found garments from these Bath-based retailers both in-store and online.
