Celebrities Inspire British Bagmakers to help raise Funds for Charity

British Bagmakers will create a pop-up-manufacturing unit in the centre of the city, for Bath in Fashion 2013, to help celebrate the return of British manufacture to luxury leather bag-making.

Fashion celebrities like milliner, Stephen Jones; interiors expert, Nina Campbell; super model, Jade Parfitt; fashion writer, Iain R Webb; and Olympic Gold medal winner, Amy Williams will be invited to design a bag which will be made into a one-of-a-kind accessory during the week for all to see.

The Forever Friends Appeal Cancer Care Campaign aims to raise £5 million towards the construction of a pioneering Cancer Centre.

The RUH treats over 2000 new cancer patients every year, making this project crucial. The clinical skills offered by the medical team at the RUH are exceptional.

The current cancer centre poor quality 1940’s single story buildings are not ideal and do not enable the clinicians to provide a positive environment necessary to support the healing process.

A special charity ‘celebrity It Bag Auction and Lunch’ will be held on Friday 26th April for the luckiest of ladies. The bags will be auctioned by The Right Honourable Don Foster, MP for Bath at a very special It Bag Auction and Lunch at the Bath Spa Hotel to raise funds for The Forever Friends Appeal’s Cancer Care Campaign.

Corporate Officer, Kate Bruhl for the Appeal comments:  “It is truly valuable for us to have such dedicated support from local organisations, which can help us not only raise funds but also raise awareness of the Appeal’s Campaign.  We are very excited about the event and are thrilled to be involved.  Thank you to Bath in Fashion, Liz Cox & Cox and British Bagmakers who have all come up trumps.

Liz Cox, business owner and designer of the eponymous bag label says: “If a handbag can help provide any lady with uncompromising cancer care at the RUH then that handbag is a lifetime’s treasure worth owning. Thank you so much to all the celebrities who have allowed us to make their best bag ever”.

Tickets for the Celebrity ‘It’ Bag Auction & Lunch cost £28 per person or £250 for a table of 10 this includes a 2 course lunch with a glass of wine and fizz on arrival. Tickets are available to buy at www.bathinfashion.co.uk or 0844 8475256
