Snapped: Kids Takeover Day at Bath Racecourse

This Bank Holiday Monday, our lucky Sales and Marketing Director Rachael was invited along to enjoy a day of racing at Bath Racecourse for the Kids Takeover Day. Bath Racecourse is an exciting day out no matter what, but the day was made even more exhilarating by the stunning sunshine that we had in Bath. There were plenty of free activities for the kids to get stuck into, from face painting to bouncy castles, and of course the excitement of the races to keep the adults happy! Lots of people took picnics to enjoy on the lawn, and those who didn't had plenty of tasty options to choose from (including HUGE candyfloss!) The atmosphere was incredible and certainly made a wonderful day out for all! We couldn't recommend a day at Bath Racecourse enough, and we will certainly be back!

Snapped: TGtB's Day Out at Bath Rugby

After the ultimate boozy afternoon at Bath Rugby yesterday, team TGtB are discovering joys of remote working. Aside from today's unconventional office (our beds), the headaches and the unexplained scratches and bruises we all had a great time. Never ones to turn down a complimentary glass of vino, we certainly fitted in well with the other supporters. After a slap-up three course lunch we made our way from the hospitality box to the stands to cheer on the homeside to victory. Bath Rugby ensured Exeter Chiefs remained winless with an emphatic 37-15 victory. Clearly in a celebratory mood, our day carried on well after the final whistle, before we ventured on the pub crawl to end all pub crawls we caught up with our man of the match Kane Palma-Newport. All that's left to say is...Roll on the Christmas party!

Team TGtB were out in full force on Sunday to support our very own Liz Ledger and Grace Spooner as they competed in their first Bath Half Marathon. The Bath Half is the biggest half marathon in the West Country and one of the largest charity fundraising events in the region, supporting local and national charities each year. Known to be a favourite amongst celebrity runners, this year's event attracted a number of famous faces including X Factor Finalist, Kye Sones, Ashley James from Made in Chelsea, former Coronation Street actor, Will Thorp and ex rugby stars, Lewis Moody and Dave Flatman. Our photographer joined the lads yesterday (Sat 1st February) for the second Bath Men's Walk which raised much-needed funds for both Bath Rugby Foundation and Dorothy House Hospice Care. On Wednesday 30th October, the Abbey held a ?Stonework and Sculpture Activity Day? to celebrate the restoration of its stone and sculptures. The event was part of the BANES Heritage Open Week and was a fantastic chance to learn about the Abbey?s history. Visitors got the chance to learn how to draw like a mason, try their hand at clay modelling, and even stone carving with the help of an expert stone mason. Compared to other areas of the South West, Bath has had a relatively quiet night given the initial Met Office forecast - with wind gusting up to 40 mph. The road teams have already cleared away debris at all 17 locations reported to the Council, earlier this morning. Although road obstructions have been dealt with successfully, rail services have faced the full brunt of the storm. South West Trains earlier announced that they are looking to gradually reintroduce services on routes that have been checked and cleared of debris. On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 3rd June, hundreds of people visited Queen Square, in the heart of the city to attend the annual Bath Boules Tournament. Billed as one of the highlights of the city?s social calendar - 64 teams, many of whom were local businesses, pitted their boules skills against one another in the name of charity, each hoping to be crowned this year's champions. All monies raised during the two-day event was awarded to the Bath Boules Charitable Trust, which funds several local charities and projects. Wealth management firm Moore Stephens were declared the winners on the first day of the competition while BMI Bath Clinic took the top spot on Sunday.

Never ones to turn down a glass of Pimms and a great networking opportunity, TGtB joined over 100 local businesses from across the South West to attend Excalibur Communications? networking race day. The event, designed to provide companies from Bath and neighbouring towns with an opportunity to get out of the office, network, and entertain clients, welcomed a string of local big names including Withy King, Fidelius, Thrings and Bath Rugby. On arrival guests were treated to a champagne drinks reception before heading into a marquee for a slap-up 3 course lunch. In between courses John Cullum, the father of legendary jazz musician, Jamie, delighted guests with anecdotes from his son?s childhood, personal and professional life. After lunch attendees participated in an auction which saw generous donations from Excalibur, Mulberry, JCB and Rolls Royce go under the hammer. Following this guests made their way down to the paddock to place some bets and cheer on their horses to victory. TGtB even sponsored a race and had the honour of awarding the winning jockey with his prize.

Snapped: Paul Weller Rocks Westonbirt

A sell-out crowd of 7,000 Mods packed into the Westonbirt Arboretum on Saturday night to see ex-Jam front man Paul Weller perform a medley of old and new material. Dressed head to toe in black, the legendary rocker looked every inch the rock star as his strummed away on his guitar. Renowned for letting the music do the talking, The Modfather barely spoke a word in between songs. After entertaining the crowd with Heavy Soul and Peacock Suit among others, Weller ended on the massive Jam hit 'Town Called Malice' which sent the whole of Westonbirt home dancing and chanting.

Snapped: Fans 'Squeeze' into Westonbirt Arboretum for Jools Holland

On Sunday evening, renowned pianist Jools Holland was joined on stage by an entourage of talented musicians and singers at Westonbirt Arboretum. As Jools tinkled the ivories the panama hat-wearing crowd made the most of the beautiful weather, sampling posh picnics and sipping on glasses of Pimms. Regular Jools Holland vocalist, Rosie May serenaded the crowd with her rendition of 'Valentine Moon' and 'Accentuate the Positive' before Roland Gift upped the ante with a super smooth version of Elvis Presley's 'Suspicious Minds'. As the sun went down on yet another successful Westonbirt concert Jools ended the evening with feel good tune 'Enjoy Yourself'.

Bath Rugby's The Rec played host to the JP Morgan Rugby 7's Final and Total Guide to Bath were lucky enough to attend. With a fantastic view from the hospitality box, the TGtB team and a number of clients enjoyed a hugely entertaining evening. Gloucester Rugby were crowned eventual winners, defeating Leicester Tigers in a thrilling final after an evening of fast paced, top class 7's action.

Snapped: Tom Briggs Strips Off to Model New Kit

Bath Rugby has unveiled its new kit ahead of their 2013/2014 Aviva Premiership campaign. Much to the delight of female supporters, Wing man, Tom Briggs stripped off to showcase the new jerseys hooped design. For generations, Bath's players and supporters have swathed themselves in the famous Blue, Black and White hoops synonymous with the Club. Bath Chief Executive Nick Blofeld commented: "We are very pleased to be back in the Blue, Black and White hoops. The supporters love them, and so do the players". The new shirt will be available in store and online from Saturday 17th August.
